A bit later, the ‘Wolves were off to the races again after Rubio’s serendipitous rebound. Again, Johnson was the benefactor of one of Rubio’s seven assists, this one a trademark no-look, flick-the-ball-over bounce pass.
The Timberwolves were able to snap a four-game losing streak with the win, while the Bobcats have extended their winless streak to 16 (!) consecutive games; leading Minnesota was yet another insane game from Kevin Love (30 points, 18 rebounds) and another outstanding effort from the still-improving Nikola Pekovic (21 points, 11 rebounds, three blocks).
