The Euroleague is about to get better and better. I was lucky enough to attend the Euroleague Final Four in Athens last year so I am really excited to see what else the Euroleague is about to do. Everybody just thinks about the NBA when the Celtics, Raptors and Grizzlies are coming to town but have you noticed the Euroleague logo on the Banner? Well they are playing Euroleague teams.
So the Euroleague is involved with the NBA. What’s next? You are right – China! The Euroleague will start a cooperation with the Chinese Basketball Federation for the first time this year. The event will be held in China and is officially called the CBA-Euroleague Challenge 2007.
Teams like Team China, Sydney Kings, CSKA Moscow and Benetton Basket Tamoil will play each other at the newly built Kunshan Stadium.
The new owner of all Euroleague games, Eurosport, will cover all the games starting September 30th.
Eurosport 2 will televise from China to 43 European countries three of the games between Team China, Sydney Kings, CSKA Moscow and Benetton Basket Tamoil on Sunday, September 30 and Monday, October 1. On Sunday, September 30, Eurosport 2 will broadcast the CSKA Moscow vs. Sydney Kings game and put Benetton Basket Tamoil vs. Team China on tape-delay. On Monday, October 1, Eurosport 2 will show CSKA Moscow vs. Team China live.
What a great chance to check out the Euroleague teams as well as the Chinese NBA Stars.
