Nike continues to rule to roost in terms of shoes worn by NBA players according to new data compiled by BasketballInsiders. Nike brand shoes were worn by 67.2 per cent of players in the association this past regular season while its Jordan brand was third with 7.5 per cent.
Adidas split the two swoosh brands with 11.1 per cent, while Puma (2.9 per cent), Under Armour (2.2 per cent), New Balance (2 per cent), and Anta (2 per cent) followed. Li-Ning, Converse, and 361 rounded out the top 10.
In terms of minutes played, Nike registered a whopping 370,212, followed by Adidas 69,909, Jordan 44,044, and Puma 22,027. Despite their namesake building his reputation from the two slot, Jordan’s proved least popular amongst guards where they had just a 6.8 per cent share compared to 8.4 per cent (forwards) and 9 per cent (centres).
