The light at the end of the tunnel is shining brightly these days if you’re a Minnesota Timberwolves fan. Maybe. Possibly. The Spanish-language El Mundo Deportivo has reported the return to Spain (yet again) of T-Wolves general manager David Kahn, DKV Joventut owner Jordi Villacampa, and Ricky Rubio’s agent Dan Fegan. The trio met for a meeting on Saturday night.
ESPN and others are now reporting the approximately €3.5 million offered by FC Barcelona to Joventut for Ricky’s rights as official, but that deal has been collecting dust since offered last Tuesday.
“I’ve always said that the NBA is my first choice,” Rubio told El Mundo Deportivo.
The Spanish-language outlet went on to discuss topics slightly more fun in reporting the Kahn-Villacampa meeting – you know, like actually playing ball. Rubio is with Team Spain in warm-ups for Eurobasket 2009, while Kahn and Villacampa are also firming up the possibility of a Timberwolves v. Joventut friendly in October 2010.
