The Los Angeles Times was intrigued enough by the blogging activities of Coleman Collins – he formerly of Virginia Tech, now with Ulm in the Bundesliga – at True Hoop that he got a writeup in the prestigious paper’s food section. “Hoop dreams, Ramen reality” should give some insight into why; anyone else dig the food court at Germany’s IKEAs?
From the Where Are They Now Department comes the story of Doron Sheffer, the former pride of Israel who played for Upper Galilee HaPoel, Maccabi Tel Aviv, the University of Connecticut and was drafted by the Los Angeles Clippers in a career that was cut short thanks to a cancer diagnosis at age 28 in year 2000.
Speaking of the past (and perhaps seeking to pay tribute to Kareem in an hour of need), Michael Bradley contributes a nice retrospective on that lonely Milwaukee Bucks championship of 1974 at Slam Online.
Meanwhile, Byron Russell is apparently still stinging from Michael Jordan’s infamous remarks regarding the former Utah Jazzman at no. 23’s infamous Hall of Fame induction speech in September. Over at Five Magazine, power rankings for the Bundesliga.
