Shaquille O’Neal’s big presence is felt in this quintet from BallinEurope’s 35 Greatest Basketball YouTubes of All-Time. For those interested in the methodology (giggle) used in compiling this handy list of dandy little clips, click here; otherwise turn on the BiE network and prepare to waste the next 22 or so minutes – hey, what else are you going to do? Watch a sitcom?
25. Dr. Phil and Shaquille O’Neal Saw each other. Okay, so no one will ever confuse the Scary Movie series with Casablanca; the guy that wrote this opening bit for Scary Movie 4 (!), however, is a genius – and probably also the guy who invented the “Hack-a-Shaq” defense.
24. Shaquille O’Neal vs. Andrew Bynum. Speaking of Shaq, check out this instant YouTube classic exchange. The setting: The first meeting between the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat after Shaq had been traded from the former to the latter. Did O’Neal want to show up his replacement, Andrew Bynum? Badly. But Bynum was fearless and in about 30 seconds makes Shaq look like the poster boy for Satchel Paige’s chief dictum: “Don’t look back. Something might be gaining on you.”
23. Shaq’s top five four dunks of all-time. The Big Historian, inspired by a Lebron jam, runs off his favorite jams. YouTube brings ‘em together.
22. Harlem Globetrotters mix. What’s that? Vintage Globetrotters clips? Yes, please!
21. The proverbial nasty dunk. This made for one of the most popular posts at BallinEurope in 2010 thus far. You people are sick, sick BiE tells ya! Ah, let’s look at Tony Skinn’s moment of YouTube glory again. Maybe twice.
Tomorrow: As we pass the midway point, prepare to be entertained by Drazen Petrovic, Arvydas Sabonis, Charles Barkley and Joey Crawford. Okay, maybe not Crawford.
