Bo McCalebb: The Boss can't live without him
Hello everybody, once again this is Javier Gancedo of Euroleague Basketball. First of all, I am sorry I’m a bit late with this column this week. A lot of circumstances went against me: I have been sick since Sunday with a temperature, but trying to work since this week is critical for all of us. Second, we have a little surprise for all you good Euroleague fans out there. Check out Euroleague.net on Monday – we really hope you like it. I will also keep this short because people can’t compare anymore, since I am publishing after the deadline.
I did not miss the deadline, of course. My team, Meet The Boss, was easy to trade this week – I had two injured players, Aleks Maric and Travis Watson, plus I wanted to get rid of Igor Rakocevic. I said I wouldn’t trade Maric unless he got injured – and there he went. So, Euroleague coaches out there, I am offering my jinxing services for the upcoming Top 16. Just leave your comment in this always underestimated BallinEurope article and I will get back to you. Yes, I do have your numbers. Or so I think…
As for new acquisitions, I went for Darjus Lavrinovic because he had a good game this weekend … I inked Tiago Splitter because Pops Mensah-Bonsu did not arrive in time I don’t see the way how Sasha Kaun will stop him, plus I got Josh Childress because he is on fire lately. So far I have 129.4 points with three players left to step on court. The team that’s 1,539th overall in the competition and ninth place in the BallinEurope Invitational Challenge private league goes like this:
Bo McCalebb: There he is again. I already can’t live without him … until I have unlimited trades next week, that is.
Terrell McIntyre. He had a terrible game against Barcelona in Siena. Time for him to bounce back.
Linas Kleiza. He was supposed to have a very good game against Partizan … and so he did. Bravo!
Trajan Langdon. Siskauskas is not 100%, so Langdon should be the man against Caja Laboral.
Qyntel Woods was a no-brainer. Prokom needed to beat Khimki and they couldn’t do it without him.
Josh Childress. His adaptation to European basketball is complete. Watch out from now on.
Ioannis Bourousis. No Maric, more chances for him to rebound and do well.
Mike Batiste. With Nikola Pekovic sidelined, Batiste would have a good game with extended playing time.
Tiago Splitter. If Caja Laboral wants to finish first, they need Splitter to do well against Sasha Kaun and Viktor Khryapa.
Darjus Lavrinovic. Milano did not have an answer for him and Darjus lived up to my expectations.
Remember than from tonight to the start of the Top 16, eeeeveryone has unlimited trades. Please use that option and make sure to have a competitive team in the Top 16. It will be quite a night for me. I have to deactivate dozens of players once the fantasy is reopened in the a.m., all possibly with a fevered mind…
