Was everybody YouTubing this week? Seriously, all the best basketball-related websites from tiny to massive/official have been plastered with YouTube clips as though it’s all part of a vast conspiracy to assist us in wasting valuable work time.
Not that that’s a bad thing…
OK, so to say “all the best” sites were addicted to the ‘Tube these past seven days is a slight exaggeration. More player reports from the NBA Las Vegas Summer League by Jonathan Givony and Matt Kamalsky were posted at over at DraftExpress.com, and there’s a particularly good game wrap of epic proportions on the quadruple overtime France vs. Turkey battle of epic proportions in the FIBA U16 European Championship Women at FIBA Europe’s official website that should keep you entertained for a while.
Elsewhere, BallinEurope just knew this whole Enes Kanter thing would take off after his beyond impressive performance in the FIBA U18 European Championship Men; you can bet NBA teams are already setting sights on this guy.
Which segues nicely into the rampant YouTubery! Check out a few Kanter highlight clips posted this week below. Caution: Contains high amounts of insane on-court domination.
Some FIBA pre-game sweet nothings from the recent Kanter-Dejan Musli — I mean, Turkey-Serbia — matchup in the U18s was posted over at YouTube, too.
Continuing to speak of YouTube, drop everything right now and go to German-language Five magazine online’s retrospective look at the greatest basketball flick of all time entitled “White Men Can’t Jump – Klassiker!” Sadly, this entry contains a mere two (thankfully in the original English) clips – The side-achingly funny “Now you robbin’ me” bit with Raymond the chump, and some Sydney-and-Billy b-ball playing of the sort that Bill Simmons disses Wesley Snipes for – but no matter: You’ll be doing a search on YouTube soon enough.
Not that you need help with that or anything, but…
Slam and Freaknick provide us YouTubes of high schooler (and reported Haifa Heat member) Jeremy Tyler and Kristof Ongenaet.
And finally, over at The Hoop Doctors, Bird takes on Jordan one more time…
