Week 1 of the Euroleague Fantasy Challenge is done. It was not a very successful start for most users, as only one team in the entire game reached the magical 200 points level.

- Private league notes
As we have said already several times, every user is only allowed to have one team in the league. So please decide who you want to have in. Belzébuth, BenWarner, Diogenes, frappy44, Hugo35, Jogonic, simon23, th2005 and others that still have multiple teams in the league, make your choice before the deadline. If you still have multiple teams in there, I will choose which team will stay.
The deadline for joining our private league is Tuesday evening 23h00. This deadline also counts toward taking your decision on the multiple teams in the private league. After that, no more changes are possible.
- What to do now with your team?
After having disputed the first week of the competition, it is now very important that you take the right decision in order to not lose contact with the top. Additionally, you should know that even if your players did not start very well, it doesn’t mean that you are already out of the race. With the right moves, you should be back on track easily. So here is my advice as how to manage your team this week.
My first goal is to get rid of underperformers. As the value of the players changes from week to week, somebody who started with a bad performance will most likely see another drop in his value next week, even if he plays very well. Example: Ricardo Greer (SLUC Nancy – 56.95 credits) came up with a 0 ranking points game. This made his value drop from 67 to 56.95. Even if he goes for a 20 ranking points performance next game, his average ranking would only be 10 and his value would drop even more. So Ricardo needs to go for an extraordinary game if he wants not lose value. It’s up to you to decide.
Find the players that gain in value. What counts for Greer in the negative way is also valid for positive development. Players that performed very well in Week 1 are pretty sure to continue gaining in value in Week 2 even if they have a bad game. It is very important to increase the money available in order to buy strong performers later on in the game. Now how to find these “sure bets”: First of all, check the most bought players on the official fantasy website; these are most likely to be the picks. Additionally, you can go through all the box scores and find the big performers of Week 1.
- The BallinEurope.com teams
We also want to share with you how our own teams performed. And in order to to give you a better view on this, here are the compositions of my team and Tobias’.
As you can see, Tobias’ team had a few very bad performances individually. So I would get rid of the highly priced guys that underperformed. Switching Jordi Trias (Regal FCB – 38.25 credits) and Jan Jagla (DKV Joventut – 34.85) would be my first moves, as you can get better value than these two guys for this money right now.
On my own team, I am pretty satisfied except with my French connection. So both of them will leave and will be replaced. I am not quite sure who I’m going to add, as I want to see the stats from all of this weekend’s league games in order to take my decisions. But I will keep you updated as to the players that join my squad.
