Doesn’t it look like a lot of people are hurt now? Take a look at the injury list of the Euroleague: Lynn Greer, Matjaz Smodis, Tomas van den Spiegel and last weeks’ MVP Daniel Santiago – just to mention a few names.
Pretty boring week with all these players out? Not at all! We got a premium match up with Olympiakos playing Tau Ceramica. This is already the second meeting of these two teams, were Olympiacos won their last meeting on opening night this season, 95-90, as Arvydas Macijauskas and Marc Jackson scored 21 points apiece. Tau hasn’t lost the last 30! home games – until CSKA came to town – so Tau Ceramica has to start again from 0 – and they want to start tonight!
If you can’t watch the game on Euroleague.tv don’t worry, it will be shown on TV in 16 countries!
Good news for CSKA: Papaloukas will be back tonight against Prokom Trefl. The good news for Prokom – they play in Moscow (if you follow BallinEurope daily you might know already that the Prokom arena has been closed, because it might collpase. But that’s about it with good news for Prokom – they are 1-6 will lose another game tonight and Tomas van den Spiegel is still out – sad story.
In group be it will be very interesting what Armani Jeans Milano can do against Lietuvos Rytas. After they "killed" Virtus Bologna last weekend in the Italian week, some people expect more from Milano also in the Euroleague. It won’t be easy for Milano to win in Vilnius, since Rytas is tied for the first place but somehow Milano showed in the last two road games that they can win.
One more interesting game: Chorale Roanne – Brose Baskets Bamberg. I hope you can hear the irony and even the TV stations show no interest at all – the game won’t be shown live anywhere than on Euroleague TV. Isn’t that somehow sad? I mean it is not that these two teams aren’t worth it to watch. It is already Brose Baskets’ last chance to keep their hops for the TOP 16 alive – but they will have to score more than their average of 63 points a game. So make sure you keep an eye on this game.
Since this game will be hard to access and everybody will watch it on Euroleague TV – we will do this weeks’ live blog with Roanne – Bamberg.
