Why would you lose to Virtus Roma if you haven’t lost one game in the Euroleague so far? Why would you only score 9 points in the third quarter and why the heck would Roberto Gabini push Sani Becirovic to the ground? Those are just a few questions that went through my mind as I was watching the game of Roma winning against Panathinaikos at home.
But the biggest question to me was – why would you have THIS Euroleague TV commentator? I really like Euroleague TV and I must say I love to follow most of them and their not 100% perfect English doesn’t bother me at all, at least they have knowledge. But that guy from last night should be sent home right away. I rather don’t want to listen to perfect English, that, by the way is presented in a very weird way by this particular commentator, but when you mess up EVERY name of the 23 players you just did not do your homework. It seemed that this guy read the names of Becirovic, Tsatsaris and Giachetti the first time. If I would have to do this job, the least thing I would do is try to ask people how to say their names!
But that wasn’t even the best: Did somebody hear the commentator say: ” 7.15 meter tall Fucka gets the rebound while the just 1.09 meter Giachetti hustles all over the place”? What is this? The game of the giants and midgets or Michael Jordan fighting the monsters in “Space Jam”? If you don’t believe me or missed the game, just check Euroleague TV, watch the game of Roma vs. Panathinaikos again. Just watch the 3rd quarter – that should be enough.
EDIT: If you want to know how to say BECIROVIC, PALALOTTOMATICA, TSARTSARIS and 7.15 meter people, then listen to this, I promise you will laugh.
Like I said, I really like Euroleague TV and I don’t mind some mistakes or language problems at all but when it comes to simple things as learning the names of the players, I rather don’t hear perfect English.
This is why you should watch the top plays of the game with some nice music instead.
